CHRISTMAS 2021 - COUNTDOWN
For the Eleven Pipers Piping, I'm quietly finishing off a bottle of Generation 11 Barrel Rested Gin that has been open for far too long. Sometimes bottles get pushed to the back of the cupboard while newer discoveries take centre stage, so I thought this was the perfect excuse to bring it back out and give it the attention it deserves.
I've paired it with Fever-Tree Spiced Orange Ginger Ale and dried lemon wheels from The Zest Co. I'm sure you've noticed some of the newer mixers from Fever-Tree, and this one is a particularly lovely match for an aged gin. The warming spice, gentle sweetness and citrus notes complement the richer flavours from the barrel resting without overpowering the spirit.
There's something quite satisfying about pairing a more complex gin with a simple serve and letting those flavours shine through. Sometimes a good G&T really is all you need!
