Watermelon & Basil Smash

50ml Hidden Curiosities Aranami Gin
3–4 chunks of fresh watermelon
5–6 basil leaves
15ml fresh lemon or lime juice
10ml sugar syrup (adjust to taste)

Muddle the watermelon, basil and sugar syrup, add the gin and citrus, shake with ice and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a little basil and a watermelon slice if you're feeling fancy.

Fresh, fruity and very summery — even if it is being enjoyed in the middle of Christmas!

For today's cocktail, I absolutely could not resist going with that iconic line from that film — you know the one! 🍉

The challenge is definitely getting harder now that we have moved away from the birds and into the dancing, drumming and piping, but this one gave me the perfect excuse to have a little fun and go slightly over the top!

I've chosen Hidden Curiosities Aranami Gin for today's cocktail — a gin that deserves a little attention and fits beautifully with this fresh, fruity serve.



The cocktail is based on a watermelon and basil smash, but I've tweaked it slightly because, for me, it needed a little extra zing to balance the sweetness.

Nobody puts this cocktail in the corner. 🍉🍸
