CHRISTMAS 2021 - COUNTDOWN
Are we not done with the birds yet? I’m all mixed up already!
This cocktail probably would have been more appropriate for Day Three, as a Chanticleer is actually a breed of French chicken. But fear not... this year I'm focusing on the counting, and while I don't have six geese laying, I do have a chicken egg and enough sixes involved to make sure I'm definitely on the right day!
Today's bird-inspired serve is a Chanticleer, using Triple Six Gin.
✨
CHANTICLEER (Recipe: Difford's)
30ml Triple Six Gin
45ml Dry Vermouth
15ml Orange Curaçao
Egg white
Dry shake, then wet shake before serving.
I found this cocktail very orange-forward, although I may have been a little heavy-handed with the Curaçao as I doubled up the recipe to fill my coupe glass. Oops!
It's a great recipe if you have a bottle of vermouth that's been open a little longer than it should have, but if you give it a try, perhaps be a little more accurate with the measurements than I was!
